The author is not the first to have offered single sheets to his friends long before seeking their eventual publication. Perhaps at the boundary of hesitation lay the writer's professional background which had no formal parallel to the unique voice of literature. David Turner was born in England and took degrees including a doctorate from University of London, followed by a Fellowship at The University of California at Berkeley and later an MBA from Columbia University, New York. He has lived for many years in the USA and longer still in Asia, both as a research scientist but latterly as a banker. But the fine arts and music - as a painter and on the piano - not to mention works of literature in several languages, have always been central to the author. He now resides in Singapore where he is married to a local Chinese and has one daughter.
