The book further examined the origin, development and the impact of the lighy? caste system in Kamw? land. It also made a comparative analysis of the lighy? caste system and the caste system in some parts of the Mandara Region and Igboland.It revealed that the lighy? are the economic back-bone of the Kamw? society, but yet they are discriminated against in social, political and judicial matters. For example they are not allowed to hold political offices or marry non-lighy? in Kamw? land.
