Tooth avulsion is characterized by complete displacement of the tooth from its alveolar socket. Avulsion accounts for up to 16% of all dental traumatic injuries in the permanent dentition. Studies have revealed that the prevalence of dental traumatic injuries is increasing, ranging from 16% to 40% among 6-year old children and from 4% to 33% among 12-14-year old children. A significant proportion of dental trauma relates to sports, unsafe play grounds or schools, road accidents ,or violence. Immediate reimplantation of an avulsed tooth is the best treatment option at the site of the accident; however, this is not always possible.
