The empirical material presented in this study indicates that war affected children present themselves using different strategies when narrating their suffering in captivity. Their experience in war is rather ambiguous and we cannot say they are innocent, at the same time we can not deny that they are guilty. what is clear is that ex-child soldiers employ variety of shifting strategies as they negotiate their survival in adversity.
