Название: Child Survival of Teenage Mothers
The number of teenage pregnancies in the world is high especially in developing countries. There are many studies of infant and child mortality but few of them that deal with child survival among teenage mothers. This issue is important because teenage mothers and their offspring are likely to experience medical, social and economic problems. This work therefore has the objective to examine the factors affecting child survival among teenage mothers in relation to demographic, socio-economic and health care variables. The work is based on data on women from the 2002-2003 Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS). Two levels of analysis are carried out, a bi-variate analysis and a multivariate logistic regression analysis. The findings of the work can be useful to create or modify policies and programs to improve the health of the offspring of teenage mothers and that of young mothers themselves.
