The audacious empirical analyses in the book reveals that the social responsibility initiatives of foreign oil firms, in general, leaves little to be desired. However, the recommendations contained herein, if implemented, can reverse the violence, militancy and youth restiveness in oil bearing communities and provide the social license required for profitable and sustainable oil production in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
