Indigenous Park Management in Chile is an outcome of in-depth study conducted in the southern part of Chile. The book highlights on the indigenous community based management approach towards conserving biodiversity, basically the globally important temperate rain forests existing in the fragmented patches that are under threat of human pressure. Indigenous parks are the natural parks owned, conserved and managed by the Mapuche community. Conflicting issues between livelihood and conservation is inevitable in a poor community like Mapuches, who earn less than half the income of non-indigenous households.
