This book gives a state-of-the art review on both field and laboratory work. It deals with the various functional and ecological aspects of heavy metal stress on plants and the possibilities for remediation. The climate of India being arid to semiarid necessitates artificial irrigation for successful agriculture. The heavy metal contents in the vegetables sold in the market are not well known and also neglected aspect in our country.
